Belmont House has been a care home since 1987 and in that time has had only two owners. The Georgian property is set in lovely private grounds with a south facing garden where residents can enjoy those sunny days any time of the year.

Wheelchair access to the garden is available through our beautiful conservatory at the front of the house. Belmont is situated in a great location for access to the town and local amenities where residents can easily pop into town to do a little shopping or catch up with friends and family for a coffee.

We have 21 very nice rooms tastefully decorated giving that homely touch. Our lift enables residents to access all floors of the house where on the ground floor you will find a very pleasant dining room, conservatory and two further lounges.


We believe the core values of care must include, respect, fulfillment, dignity and independence. Meeting these core values can only be achieved through good leadership, efficiency and positive effectiveness of the care given by the whole team.

Our residents are valued and respected where each person is given a voice to express their wishes. Comfort, laughter, compassion and healthy living is what we strive to achieve for our folk so that they may enjoy a good quality of. life.


Due to the recent pandemic CQC have not been able to enter the home to carry out their re-inspection and so you will still see on their web site that the home continues to show requiring improvement. Our CQC officer is Mr Christopher Bishop has been supporting the home during the lock down. Under the Emergency Support Framework CQC have been contacting care homes to identify good health and safety, infection control practice and good leadership of the homes. Mr Bishop carried out our check on the 26th May with the Management team. Mr Bishop found no concerns and was very pleased with how the home is being managed. Readers of our web site can contact Mr Bishop should they wish to find out more about how Belmont House is managed. We are looking forward to Mr Bishop being able to attend Belmont House for our re-inspection.

For every-one reading our web page we would like to notify you that we have recently had our inspection by CQC, the first for three years due to our previous good rating. For the past 19 years Belmont House has achieved nothing below a four star or good rating. However this time the officers conducting the inspection have rated us requiring improvement. We strongly  disagree with the rating due to the findings they made. We have asked for a review of the inspection and a report from Mr & Mrs Phillips has been sent to the Commission. Due to the conduct of the inspectors on the day, a report was sent to the complaints department of the Care Quality Commission. The complaints department did not feel that our complaint could be justified and we were advised to take our concerns to the ombudsman through to central government. Should anyone wish to be reassured regarding the care that Belmont House provides please do not hesitate to contact the Management team.

A great team of carers, housekeeper, cook and kitchen staff complete our team at Belmont house. A vast range of qualifications and continuing training for the staff ensures that they meet cqc standards which is crucial for the care of our folks.


Belinda Phillips

Company Director / Provider

I am joint Company Director along with Patrick. My role as Company Director and Provider is to ensure that we offer our Manager and staff full support in running an excellent home for all that live at Belmont House. We will make sure that the standards of health and safety, living accommodation and care is to a high standard for our residents whilst ensuring that Belmont remains a safe place to work for all our staff. My 20 years of experience of managing the home prior to November 2020 will enable me to offer added support to Ellenor and her team.


Patrick Phillips

I am the joint Company Director. My main role is to over see the smooth running of the Company whilst providing an excellent service for all that live at Belmont House



 Registered Manager

I have been working in the family business for 18 years. I am now proud to be the newly appointed Registered Manager. I have had over 9 years of experience as the Deputy Manager working along side the Manager in providing an excellent service for all that live at Belmont House. I will continue to provide this service for our residents whilst supporting a great team of staff in providing a high standard of care, ensuring Belmont remains a safe and homely place to live.
